About Me
My name is Gemma and I knew from a young age that I eventually wanted to work with animals. This lead me to complete a National Diploma in Animal Care, followed by a BSc(Hons) degree in Zoology, after which I worked for a number of years in the animal health industry.
Ten years ago, I adopted my first rescue greyhound and my passion for dogs was born. I currently live with my two elderly rescue greyhounds, Rio and Fairy, and it was Rio that inspired my journey to become a Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner. When Rio was 8 years old, I started to notice irregularities with his gait and posture which the vet believed to be the onset of osteoarthritis in his hips. I researched ways in which I could manage his condition and came across the Canine Massage Therapy Centre owned by Natalie Lenton. Rio and I attended the one day workshop for the Beginners Guide to Canine Massage and I was hooked!
Seeing the difference that Clinical Canine Massage has made for Rio, I decided that I would like to embark on my journey of becoming a Canine Massage practitioner. I completed the two year Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner Programme through the Canine Massage Therapy Centre where I have been highly trained in a number of massage disciplines and techniques, including the Lenton Method©. I am also a proud member of the Canine Massage Guild, committing to excellence through continued education and training.
